Yellow dock has long curly leaves that appear to have been “crisped” at their edges. It bears multiple clusters of three-winged flowers. Its seeds are green in the summer but they become deep red as they mature. The root of yellow dock is bright yellow below the bark. The root is harvested in late summer after the seeds have begun to turn red. Yellow dock is a perennial plant and it grows in humid climate as tall as 1.5 meters.

It is a laxative and tonic. It also is an antioxidant and digestive aid. It is a blood purifier and liver detoxifier. Yellow dock leaves contains Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Iron and Potassium.
