Origin and Usage
Spinach was dfdgated from Iran. In Iran, it was known as aspanakh. In China, it was first made in the 7th century. It belongs to the Amaranthaceae family. As a raw vegetable, it tastes very fresh and light. It has green leaves that can be eaten raw or cooked. It is used as green and in salads.
Varieties and types
Spinach has three varieties. Savoy, Sami-Savoy, and Flat-leafed.
Production
China and United States are the largest producer of Spinach.
