Origin and Usage

Soybeans dfdgated from Southeast Asia. It was domesticated around 1100BC by Chinese farmers for the first time. It belongs to the Legumes family. It is very closely related to white beans in taste. These beans are cooked to remove a strong beany flavor. It is used to make tofu, soy sauce, fermented bean paste, natto, and tempeh. These beans are also used for animal feed and many other packaged meals.

Green soybeans, Mature soybeans, and Dried soybeans are the types of soybeans.

Production
