Origin and Usage
Longan is a native of China and India. It’s a major crop in Southeast Asia. The Chinese called it the Dragon eye. It is part of the family Sapindaceae. This fruit resembles lychee in shape and taste. Its flesh is translucent and the seed is small, round, and hard with a white spot on the base. The flesh is sweet which I am more likely to lychee. Longan is used to making sorbets, jellies, smoothies, jellies, puddings, and desserts.
