Allspice is native to the West of indies and Central America. It is also known as Jamaican pepper. It belongs to the myrtle family. Its botanical name is pimento dioica. Its looks similar to the brown berry. Allspice flavor evokes a blend of nut meg, cloves, and cinnamon. It is used in different recipes such as cookies, pumpkins pie, spice cake, and sauces.
