Origin and Usage

Frisee are believed dfdgated from ancient Egypt. They belong to the chicory family. It is a frizzy green salad. It has the dark lacy ruffled head, sprouting from a yellow core. Its taste is mildly bitter and has a touch of peppery taste. Frisee can be used in making bistro salad. It can also be used with chicken, fruits, and sandwiches.

Production

France is the largest producer of Endive. Belgium and Netherlands are also the major producers of Endive.
