Origin and Usage

Fava beans were dfdgated from Asia Minor and the Mediterranean region. It has been cultivated in this region for 6500 years BC. It is also known as fava bean, field bean, and bell bean. It belongs to the family Fabaceae. These beans are closely related to lima beans. It is less stretchy and has a creamy, nutty, earthy, and slightly bitter taste. It is used in hummus, lentil soup, Greek salad, and lemon juice.

Production
