Origin

Guavas were dfdgated from Mexico, Central America, or Northern America. Guava has been starting cultivated almost 2500 years ago. It is a common tropical fruit and is almost cultivated all over the world especially in tropical and sub-tropical regions nowadays. Botanically guavas are berries. It belongs to the family Myrtle. It is used in making jellies, pastries, and other bakery items.

In 2019 Annual worldwide production of guava is 55 million tons. India was the largest producer with 45% contribution in it.
