Origin and Usage

Wakame was discovered by Wellington in 1987. Wakame has a briny, salty, sweet, and umami flavor. It can be used in soups, salads, and curries. It is also used in many Japanese dishes.

Production

Japan and Korea are the largest producers of wakame.
