Origin and Usage

Crookneck was cultivated as a natively grown vegetable by Wampanoag Indians. It belongs to the cucurbits family. It is bulbous at the bottom and thin and curved at the top. It has a yellow color. The entire crookneck is edible, it has a sweet, nutty flavor. It can be used in stew, soups, and served as a side dish.
