Origin and Usage

Fennel is native to Southern Europe and Asia Minor. It is cultivated mostly in temperate regions. It belongs to the family Umbellifers. It has an aromatic and licorice flavor. It can be used as cooked. Most people only use the bulb. However, its feathery fronds can also be used as an herb. It can also use in Drinks, pizza, soup, braised, and pasta salad.

It has two varieties. One is used as an herb while the other is used as vegetables.

Production

India is the largest prouder of fennel. Syria, Egypt, Germany, Turkey, and Pakistan are also the major countries that produce the fennel.
