Origin and Usage

The heart of the palm comes from the core of different kinds of palm trees. It is also known as palm cabbage, Chetna, and Palmito. Hearts of palm have a mild flavor. They are similar to white asparagus in taste. Like other greens, it is also eaten cooked. It can be baked and grilled.

Brazil is the largest producer of Hearts of palm.
