Spinach lowers oxidative stress and lessens the risk of cancer and diabetes. It promotes eye health and reverses the damage caused by sunlight. Spinach lowers blood pressure and saves you from many heart diseases. 

Origin and Usage

Spinach came from Persia. In Persia, it was known as aspanakh.
It belongs to the Amaranthaceae family. Its leaves have an oval shape and are wrinkled. Spinach has a mild, slightly sweet taste. It can be eaten raw or cooked. It s served as green for salads, and with other vegetable dishes.

Varieties and types

Spinach has three main types. Savoy, Semi-savoy, and flat-leafed.

Production

China, the USA, Japan, and Turkey are the largest producer of Spinach.
