Origin and Usage
Seagrapes are native to the Caribbean. They are also found in the regions of the pacific ocean. Seagrapes are also known as lato, guto, and arosep. It belongs to the family caulerpeceae. Seagrapes have a mild salty taste with the taste of the sea. It is mostly used in the cuisine of Vietnam, Korea, Japan, and Indonesia. It is eaten raw and also can be used in soups, salads, and ice cream.
Production
Japan, Vietnam, Taiwan and China are the largest producers of sea grapes.
