Fiddlehead is native to Canada. It was the people of eastern Canada who harvested this vegetable and later introduced the vegetable to the other world. It b belongs to the family Onocleaceae. It is a sweet vegetable. Fiddlehead is grassy and snappy. It is used steamed, boiled, and sautéed. Fiddlehead is used with butter, lemon, garlic, and mayonnaise.
Varieties and types
Fiddlehead has three types. Ostrich fern Matteucia struthiopteris, lady fern Athyrium filix-femina, and bracken fern Pteridium aquilinum.
